By building and operating our own in~house cloud solution rather than using common commercially available platforms Project NOLA offers a camera picture quality that is up to 8x Better and provides more powerful features that more greatly benefit crime reduction, at only a Small Fraction of the Cost while also providing Vastly Superior Privacy Protection to the General Public!

Enhanced Night Vision

To provide highly superior picture quality regardless of lighting conditions, Project NOLA PTZ cameras feature Sony STARVIS Imaging Chips and Adaptive IR Emitters that allow the cameras to closely zoom in and clearly see over 1000' away in typical urban environments.  Our Ultra-Long Range PTZs feature Laser Emitters that allow the cameras to zoom in on and see over 1800' in complete darkness!  Even our "standard" stationary  crime cameras feature an amazing Sony STARVIS / Adaptive IR combination for superior night vision.

Human and/or Vehicle Automatic Zoom & Tracking

Featuring Advanced Machine Learning that can tell the difference between humans, vehicles, and other objects, then automatically zoom in on and very closely track distant targets that may even be hundreds of feet away, single Project NOLA PTZ Crime Cameras are often used to cover public parks, beaches, parking lots and other vast areas that would traditionally require a much larger number of cameras.   When used in conjunction with our optional Facial Recognition capabilities, a single Project NOLA PTZ camera may automatically alert the police to the presence of a wanted felon, known trespasser, etc. within 360 degrees of the camera and hundreds of feet away... day or night!

Real~Time Facial Recognition

Placing respect of people's right to privacy above all else, let's first talk about how Project NOLA built its very own in-house Facial Recognition platform that is in NO WAY connected to commercial facial recognition platforms, Social Media, etc.  Raw Facial Recognition data is retained in our server room for a period of only 2 weeks (just long enough to assist with missing new missing persons cases) before automatically being permanently overwritten with new data.  Our Facial Recognition data is NEVER sold or shared with ANY commercial entities

Project NOLA greatly respects and prioritizes people's right to privacy. Raw footage and metadata from Project NOLA's nationwide network of crime cameras is securely stored on servers at Project NOLA's National Real-Time Crime Center located at the University of New Orleans, and is only used to assist Law Enforcement responding to Emergency Situations and Investigating Felony Crimes.  Project NOLA's Proprietary Data is automatically deleted and overwritten within two months, is never sold, and is not shared with third parties outside the public safety community.

Where legally permitted, Project NOLA operates Facial Recognition Crime Cameras installed on private and commercial property.  While authorized law enforcement personnel may remotely access camera video and receive automated alerts when a known wanted felon is potentially detected live on camera, only Project NOLA supervisors may access Facial Recognition data to conduct searches, which are strictly limited to assisting with felony investigations and missing persons cases.  A community based public safety initiative, Project NOLA does not use Facial Recognition to identify or locate individuals possibly facing deportation from the United States or involved in peaceful protests, unless an individual is also wanted for a Felony Crime.

Project NOLA unbiasedly treats all individuals equally without favoring with or discriminating against particular groups.  Safeguards in place to protect individuals right to privacy and freedom of expression include Project NOLA Crime Camera Hosts having the right to immediately terminate their participation with Project NOLA's community-based public safety initiative for any reason they may possibly deem necessary.
